Choose Baby + your surname for a pregnancy reveal, or your little one's first name for a name announcement and their first photographs. This round 3D wooden baby disc is made to order by our small family business in Hull, UK, ready to become part of the memories you keep.

A wooden pregnancy announcement for family and grandparents

If you have not chosen a name yet, enter Baby in the first field and your family name in the optional second field. For example, Baby Richardson has Baby in raised lettering and Richardson engraved beneath it. Photograph the disc with your baby scan or give it to grandparents-to-be when you share your news.

The standard engraved greeting is “Hello World” and “my name is”, with the leaf sprig below. A scan photograph is a styling suggestion and is not supplied or attached to the disc. If you prefer a “Coming soon” greeting, a due date or another layout, contact us before ordering so we can agree the wording and check it will fit.

A name announcement sign for their first introduction

When you know the name, personalise the same design with your baby's first name in 3D and any middle names or surname engraved below. Hold it beside your newborn for a first family portrait, pack it in your hospital bag or use it for a baby name reveal photograph. Afterwards, keep your name announcement plaque with their early photographs or display it safely in the nursery.

Choose your size and name colour

Measurements are the diameter of the round wooden disc. Regular is a compact keepsake for a reveal photograph; Medium and XL give the raised lettering more room in a family portrait or display. See the size-guide photograph to compare the three sizes.

Choose Pastel Blue, Pastel Pink, White, Beige, Grey, Brown or Sage Green. This choice applies to the raised name or word only. The disc background stays natural birch wood; the greeting, extra names and leaf detail are engraved. White is a bright painted white, while Beige is our softer, warm Champagne shade.

How to personalise your disc — two simple fields

1. Select a size and name colour.
2. First name — required: enter the name you want in raised 3D lettering, such as Colby, Amber or Lily-Mae. For a pregnancy announcement before the name has been chosen, enter Baby.
3. Middle name / surname — optional: enter the extra names or family name to engrave, such as Richardson or Cecilia Jones. Leave this field blank for the raised-name-only version.
4. Check spelling, capitals, spaces and hyphens before checkout. We use the details you provide and arrange the lettering to suit the name and disc size.

Size: Medium — 17 cm
Name colour: Sage Green
First name: Baby
Middle name / surname: Richardson
Result: Baby in raised Sage Green lettering, Richardson engraved below, with the standard Hello World / my name is greeting and leaf sprig.

For the simple Colby design in our family hero photograph, enter Colby in the first field and leave the optional field blank. No middle name or surname will be added. A double-barrelled name entered in the first field is treated as the raised first name.

For several separate words in 3D, a particularly long name, a different greeting or a date, please contact us before ordering. A design preview is available on request.

A keepsake beyond the announcement

Use your disc for a pregnancy announcement photo, a surprise for grandparents or a newborn name reveal, then keep it with the memories of your little one's arrival. Your order includes one personalised wooden disc. Albums, blankets, baby clothing, scan photographs and other styling accessories shown or suggested are not included.

Dispatch and UK delivery

We usually dispatch on the next working day once the personalisation details are confirmed. Standard UK delivery is free. Delivery time depends on the service chosen; available upgrades are shown at checkout. Contact us before ordering if you need the disc for a particular date.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this disc to announce a pregnancy?

Yes. Enter Baby in the required first-name field and your surname in the optional field, for example Baby Richardson. Baby will be raised and painted, with Richardson engraved beneath it. The standard engraved greeting remains Hello World / my name is.

Can I change the greeting to Coming soon or add a due date?

Contact us before ordering so we can check the wording and layout. Different greetings and dates are custom requests, rather than part of the standard two-field order. We will confirm how to submit the agreed details.

What if we have not chosen a baby's name?

Use Baby as the raised word, with your family name engraved below if you would like it. You can leave the optional field blank for a simple Baby disc.

Can I use it for a name reveal after the birth?

Yes. Enter your baby's first name instead of Baby and add any middle names or surname in the optional field. It works as a newborn name sign for first photographs and a personalised keepsake afterwards.

Which parts are raised and which are engraved?

The first name or Baby entered in the required field is made in raised 3D lettering and painted in your selected colour. The optional extra names, greeting and leaf sprig are engraved into the wooden background.

Do I have to add a middle name or surname?

No. The second field is optional. Leave it blank for a raised-name-only disc like the Colby examples. The standard greeting and leaf detail will still be included.

Can I include a middle name and a surname together?

Yes. Put them together in the optional field, for example Cecilia Jones. They will be engraved beneath the raised first name and arranged to fit your chosen disc.

Are double-barrelled first names possible?

Yes. Enter the complete name and hyphen in the required field, for example Lily-Mae. That name will be raised. Contact us first for several separate words or a particularly long name so we can check the layout.

What does my colour choice change?

It changes only the painted raised first name or word. The background keeps its natural wood finish, while the greeting, extra names and botanical detail are engraved. The seven colour choices are shown in the colour-guide photograph.

How do White and Beige differ?

White is a clean, bright painted white. Beige is a warmer, soft Champagne shade. Both are painted lettering colours; the wooden disc itself stays natural birch.

Which size should I choose?

Regular is approximately 12 cm in diameter, Medium 17 cm and XL 20 cm. Choose according to the space in your photograph or display. Letter size and spacing are adjusted for the name length; contact us if you want advice on a longer name.

Can I request a preview?

Yes. Send us your wording, size and colour, and let us know if you would like to check an unusual or longer name. A design preview is available on request.

Will my disc look exactly like the photographs?

The photographs show example names. Your lettering is arranged to suit your own details, so its size and spacing can differ. Natural wood grain and engraved tones vary slightly, and screen settings affect how paint colours appear.

Is this suitable as a pregnancy announcement gift?

Yes. A Baby and family-name design is a personal way to share the news with grandparents or other family members. Check the surname spelling before ordering. It also makes a new baby gift when you know the first name.

What is included, and how quickly will you send it?

Your order includes one personalised wooden disc in the selected size and name colour. Styling accessories are not included. We usually dispatch on the next working day after the details are confirmed; dispatch is when your parcel leaves us, rather than its arrival date.

Is the disc a toy?

It is a decorative keepsake and photo prop, not a toy. Use it under adult supervision, keep it out of children's reach and remove it from a cot or sleeping area after photographs.
