How to personalise your sign

1. Choose your size. Select Small, Large or XL from the options on this page.
2. Enter your baby's name. Type it exactly as you want it engraved, including spelling, accents, capital letters and hyphens. The name is required.
3. Add a request if needed. Use the optional wording or font request field for a different short heading or a specific font request. Leave it blank for the standard design shown.
4. Check your details. Review the name, size and any request before adding the sign to your basket.

Example: enter Axel as the baby's name and leave the optional request blank. Your sign will read “Welcome to the world” above Axel, with the outline heart below. For the Amelia version, simply enter Amelia instead.

If you would like a longer sentence, several names or a substantially different layout, message us first. We can check what will fit before you place the order. Please do not assume that a font or layout change will look identical to the example photograph; tell us your exact request so we can confirm it.

Choose a size for your photograph

The available options are labelled Small: 11 × 13 cm, Large: 15 × 18 cm and XL: 22 × 24 cm. These are the approximate measurements used in the size selector. All versions use 3 mm birch plywood. Check the selected option carefully, and contact us before ordering if an exact measurement is important for your photograph or display.

A smaller sign can work well in a close-up held in an adult's hand. A larger option gives the name more presence when you are photographing a wider scene. The plaque is supplied as a single flat piece; a display stand is not included.

Ideas for a first photograph

Keep the name in focus. Hold the sign by an edge, facing the camera, with a little space around the full round shape. Soft window light helps show the grain and dark engraving without a harsh reflection. A plain linen or muslin background keeps the lettering easy to see.

Include your little one. An adult can hold the plaque in the foreground while your baby remains comfortably behind it. Keep the sign away from the face and body, supervise throughout and remove it immediately after taking the photograph. Never leave the sign in a baby's sleeping space.

Keep it with the memories. After the announcement, store the plaque with your first photographs or other baby keepsakes. Clothing, blankets and nursery accessories in the images are styling props and are not included in your order.

Natural wood and care

Each piece of birch has its own grain and tone. Small variations in colour, markings and engraving are normal for natural wood. The laser engraving may look slightly different across areas of grain, and lighting or screen settings can affect the colour shown in photographs.

Handle gently and keep dry. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, avoid soaking or abrasive cleaners, and store flat somewhere dry. This is a decorative photo prop and keepsake, not a toy or teether. Display and store it out of children's reach.
