PRODUCT DETAILS
A little drawing. A gift they can keep.
Turn your child's picture into a personalised children's artwork gift for someone they love. This A4 wooden artwork plaque has your chosen words engraved above and below a blank drawing area, ready for little artists to fill with their own colours, characters and ideas.
Make a colourful picture for Mummy, a rocket for Daddy, a house for Grandma or a kite for Grandad. From a first family portrait to a cheerful flower garden, the artwork is theirs to create. Your words give it a personal finishing touch, and the included wooden stand makes it easy to display.
You receive one plaque with your wording engraved and the drawing area left blank. Children add the artwork at home. The gallery shows decorated examples for different recipients; it is not a set of four. Crayons, pencils, paints and styling props are not included.
A children's artwork gift for their favourite person
Choose the family name your child actually uses. The recipient options include Daddy, Mummy, Dad, Mum, Grandad, Grandpa, Grandma, Granny, Uncle and Auntie. Select Custom for another name or title, such as Nana, Nanny, Papa, a godparent or a teacher.
A child-made picture makes a thoughtful Mother's Day gift for Mum or Grandma, a Father's Day gift for Dad or Grandad, or a birthday surprise for an auntie or uncle. It also works as a Christmas keepsake from the grandchildren, a thank-you gift or a small present made simply because your child wants to make someone smile.
The design stays focused on their artwork: natural wood, a fine engraved border and your own message. There is no need to choose a different product just because the recipient or occasion changes.
What makes this drawing plaque special?

- Natural birch plywood: a lightweight 3 mm wooden plaque with visible grain and rounded corners.

- A blank creative space: ready for your child to draw directly on the wood with their own art materials.
- Display stand included: turn their finished picture into a freestanding keepsake.
- Flexible recipients: parents, grandparents and other important people in your child's life.
How to personalise your wooden artwork plaque
- Choose who it is for. Pick the matching recipient from the menu. Select Custom if your preferred name or title is not listed.
- Enter the complete top wording. Include the recipient in this field, for example A drawing for Grandma or Happy Birthday Uncle James. This is the wording engraved above the drawing area.
- Add the optional bottom wording. Enter a short message, the child's name or names, a sign-off and a date only if wanted. Use a new line where you would like a line break. Leave this field blank for no bottom engraving.
- Check your details. Review names, spelling, punctuation and dates before placing your order. We use the wording you submit; no extra greeting, message, sender or date is added automatically.

The personalisation graphic in the gallery shows where the wording goes. Short messages leave the lettering more space. For a precise arrangement or longer wording, please contact us before ordering. A wording preview is available on request.
Create their picture at home
Place the plaque flat on a protected surface and let your child work within the engraved border. Crayons and colouring pencils are a simple way to add a colourful scene, a family portrait, flowers, a favourite animal or their own imaginative doodles. You could sketch the idea on paper first, or let them draw freely.
Two or more children can make a shared picture and have all their names engraved underneath. For a grandparent's gift, try a picture of the grandchildren together. For Mum or Dad, your child could draw something they enjoy doing together. The charm comes from their own marks and ideas.
If you prefer craft paint, choose a medium suitable for wood, use light coats and let it dry fully. Test your chosen materials discreetly first; results can vary with the wood grain and art supplies. Keep the engraved words clear and avoid soaking the plywood. Always supervise children during decorating.
Ready for a favourite shelf
Once the artwork is finished, place the plaque in its included wooden stand. It can sit on a desk, mantelpiece, shelf or sideboard as a reminder of the person who made it. The wood's natural grain gives each piece a slightly different appearance.
This is a decorative indoor keepsake. Keep it dry, handle it carefully and dust with a soft dry cloth. It is a wooden surface to draw on, rather than a glass-fronted frame or an erasable drawing board.
Frequently asked questions
What do I receive?
One personalised A4 wooden drawing plaque and one wooden display stand. The central drawing area is supplied blank. Artwork, crayons, pencils, paint, flowers and other styling props shown in the photographs are not included.
Does the plaque arrive with a drawing on it?
No. The colourful pictures in our gallery are examples of what a child can add at home. We engrave your wording; your child creates the artwork directly on the wood after delivery.
Is this only a gift for Daddy?
No. Choose Daddy, Mummy, Dad, Mum, Grandad, Grandpa, Grandma, Granny, Uncle or Auntie. For Nana, Nanny, Papa, a teacher, a first name or another recipient, select Custom and include the exact wording in the top field.
Can I change the words at the top?
Yes. Enter the complete top wording you want engraved, including the recipient. For example, A drawing for Grandad, Happy Birthday Mummy or Thank you Miss Smith. Match the selected recipient to your wording, or choose Custom for a different name or title.
What should I enter for the bottom of the plaque?
Enter your short message, names or sign-off, and a date only if wanted. Put separate lines on separate lines in the box. For example: Made with love / Amelia and Adam xxx / 18/10/2026. Leave this field blank if you want no bottom engraving.
Will a message or date be added automatically?
No. We use the wording you submit, and do not copy messages, names or dates from the example photographs. Check both personalisation fields before ordering.
Can more than one child decorate it?
Yes. Siblings can share the drawing area and you can include more than one child's name in the bottom wording. Plan a simple shared picture or give each child part of the space.
What can my child use to draw on the wood?
Crayons and colouring pencils are good starting points for a colourful drawing. Results vary with the materials used and the natural wood grain. Test your chosen medium discreetly first and supervise children. Art materials are not supplied.
Can we use paint as well?
You can decorate the wood with suitable craft paint if you prefer. Use light coats, avoid soaking the plywood and allow it to dry fully before displaying. Paint and brushes are not included. This is primarily a drawing plaque, with space for your own artwork.
How big is the plaque?
The plaque is approximately A4 size, 21 cm wide by 29.7 cm tall, in portrait orientation, and is made from 3 mm birch plywood. The engraved border and wording sit within these overall dimensions.
Is the stand included?
Yes, a wooden stand is included for freestanding display on a shelf, desk, mantelpiece or sideboard. The larger display plinth in the hero photograph is a styling prop and is not included.
Is this a frame for paper drawings?
No. Your child draws directly on the wooden surface. It is a flat engraved wooden plaque, without glass, a paper insert or an opening frame.
Can I send you an existing drawing to engrave?
This listing is for engraved wording with a blank space to decorate at home. It does not include uploading, tracing or engraving an existing drawing. Contact us before ordering if you need a different type of artwork gift.
Is the writing a sticker or raised lettering?
The wording and fine drawing border are engraved into the natural wood. This design has no raised coloured recipient lettering. Grain, tone and the appearance of engraving can vary slightly from piece to piece.
Can I request a preview or a specific layout?
A wording preview is available on request. If you need a precise layout, unusually long wording or a special arrangement, contact us before ordering so we can check the space available.
How should I care for it?
Keep the plaque indoors and dry. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, avoid soaking it and keep it away from direct heat. It is a decorative keepsake; children should decorate it with adult supervision.
