A family pregnancy announcement sign turns your news into a picture of the people and pets you love. Personalise this round wooden plaque with your surname, choose three, four, five, six or seven, and tell us which symbols to engrave. Large hearts represent parents, smaller hearts represent children, paws include your pets, and tiny footprints mark the baby on the way.

Your family, told in symbols

Every family has its own story. You might be welcoming your first baby, adding a sibling or including a much-loved dog or cat in the announcement. Choose the combination that reflects your household and give us the order you would like, from left to right.

• Parents: one large outlined heart for each parent.
• Children: one smaller outlined heart for each child.
• Dogs and cats: one paw print for each pet.
• New baby: one pair of footprints for each expected baby.

The symbols are engraved into the plaque. They are not separate charms or removable pieces. You can include one parent, two parents, siblings and pets in the combination that suits your family. The examples in the photographs are ideas to help you choose.

How to personalise your sign

1. Select your size from the Small, Large and XL options shown above.
2. Choose your family number using the “And then there were...” selector. This is the word engraved beneath the message.
3. Enter your surname exactly as you want it engraved, including capital letters and punctuation.
4. List your family from left to right in the symbols field. Say who each symbol represents so we can follow your chosen arrangement.
5. Add any extra request in the optional box. For a different symbol, message us before ordering so we can confirm what is possible.

Example shown: surname: Smith; number: four; family order: Dad – large heart, Mum – large heart, dog – paw, new baby – footprints. This creates two hearts, one paw and one pair of footprints along the bottom.

Another example: surname: Williams; number: five; family order: Dad – large heart, Mum – large heart, child – small heart, cat – paw, new baby – footprints. You can also leave pets out of the family count if you prefer: select the number you want engraved and explain your intended arrangement. We use your chosen number rather than automatically deciding it from the symbols.

One pair of footprints represents one baby. For twins, request two pairs and choose the family number you want shown. If you need wording outside the available three-to-seven options, please contact us first. Check your surname, selected number and family order carefully before adding the plaque to your basket.

A wooden pregnancy reveal keepsake

The design places “BABY” above your surname, followed by “…And then there were” and your selected number. Your family symbols sit underneath. It is a simple way to share a first pregnancy or the news that another little person is joining the family, without needing a long message in the photograph.

For a flat lay, place the plaque beside your ultrasound photograph on a plain blanket. For a more personal reveal, hold it between you or hand it to someone special and capture the moment. After the announcement, keep it with your scan photographs or display it on a shelf, safely out of children’s reach.

Materials and what is included

The engraving has a dark brown finish against natural pale wood. Grain, shade and the tone of the laser-cut edge can vary slightly, making each piece individual. The design is engraved directly into the wood, with no raised name letters. Ultrasound prints, clothing, blankets and other styling props in the photographs are not included.

Have a different symbol in mind?

Hearts, paws and footprints are the standard examples, but you are welcome to ask about another idea. Tell us what you would like the symbol to represent and send a reference if you have one. We will confirm whether it can be engraved clearly at the chosen size before you order. A custom request is subject to confirmation; adding a note does not guarantee that every drawing or detailed design will work.

Care and display

Keep your plaque indoors and dry. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; do not soak or use abrasive cleaners. This is a decorative keepsake and photography prop, not a toy. An adult should supervise any photograph involving children, and the plaque should be stored and displayed out of their reach.

Can I personalise the surname?

Yes. Enter the surname exactly as you want it engraved. The Smith, Jones and Williams plaques in the gallery are examples; your order will use the details you provide.

Which family numbers can I choose?

The selector offers three, four, five, six and seven. Choose the word you want engraved. Contact us before ordering if you need another number or different wording.

Can I include my dog or cat?

Yes. Request a paw for each pet and tell us where it should appear in the row. Both dogs and cats use a paw symbol. You decide whether to include pets in the engraved family number.

How do I show an older child?

Ask for a smaller heart for each child. Large hearts represent parents, so the difference in size helps show your chosen family arrangement.

Can I show twins or more than one expected baby?

Yes. Request one pair of footprints per baby and state this clearly in your family order. Select the number you want engraved to match your announcement.

Can I change the order of the symbols?

Yes. List the people and pets in the order you want them engraved, from left to right. For example: Mum – heart, child – smaller heart, Dad – heart, new baby – footprints.

Can you add a different symbol?

Please message us before ordering with your idea. We can discuss a suitable engraving, but detailed or unusual requests need confirmation first.

Are the symbols removable?

No. The surname, wording and symbols are engraved into one wooden plaque. They are not interchangeable pieces.

Can I request a preview?

Yes. Message us to request a layout preview, particularly if you have an unusual combination or a custom symbol in mind.

Does it come with the scan photograph or other accessories?

No. Your order includes one personalised plaque. The scan prints, baby clothing and other props are shown only to suggest ways to style your announcement.
