PRODUCT DETAILS
Their little masterpiece. A gift for someone they love.
Create a personalised handprint gift, footprint keepsake or drawing plaque for Mum, Dad, grandparents or another special person. This wooden keepsake plaque combines raised recipient lettering, red hearts and your engraved words with a blank space for the artwork you create at home.
Choose Daddy, Mummy, Grandma, Grandad or another special person, then add your message, names and an optional date. Finish it with colourful paint prints or let your child draw directly onto the wood with their own crayons or coloured pencils. From a baby's first footprints to an older child's picture, it is a gift with their own little mark on it.
Please note: the artwork area arrives blank. Handprints, footprints and drawings shown in the photos are examples. Paints, brushes, crayons and coloured pencils are not included.
Your order includes one personalised plaque. The main photograph shows four example designs for Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandad to illustrate different recipients, lettering colours and ways to decorate your plaque. They are not a set of four.
Made personal for their favourite person
This plaque is a thoughtful gift from children to parents, grandparents and other loved ones. The recipient choices are Dad, Mum, Daddy, Mummy, Grandma, Grandpa, Grandad, Granny, Uncle and Auntie. Choose Custom for a different name or family nickname, such as Nana or Nanny, and tell us the exact wording.
Create a Father's Day handprint gift for Dad, a Mother's Day keepsake for Mum, a birthday surprise for Grandma or a Christmas gift for Grandad. Your own message makes it suitable for a thank-you, a first celebration as a parent or simply a little reminder of how much they are loved.
Three ways to make it your own
- Handprint art: add your child's handprint using your own suitable child-safe paint.
- A footprint keepsake: capture little feet in a colour you choose at home.
- A drawing gift: let your child use crayons or coloured pencils to draw a picture, doodle, hearts or their own message inside the blank area.
You can combine a small print with a drawing, or include artwork from siblings where space allows. Plan the arrangement before starting: the number of prints that fit depends on the size of the children's hands or feet. The blue and green prints in our photographs are examples; they are not supplied or added by us.
A drawing for Mum, tiny footprints for Dad, a keepsake for grandparents
For Mum or Mummy: let your child draw a rainbow, flowers, a family portrait or a little picture of something they love. Alternatively, add a handprint or footprint. Personalise the message for Mother's Day, a birthday or a just-because gift.
For Dad or Daddy: capture tiny painted feet, make a handprint picture or let an older child create their own crayon artwork. Choose words for a first Father's Day, a birthday or an everyday reminder of their bond.
For Grandma, Grandad or another grandparent: create a gift from one grandchild or a shared keepsake from siblings. Children can contribute small drawings or prints where space allows, with their names engraved below.
For Auntie, Uncle or a different loved one: choose the recipient or select Custom for the family nickname you use. A thank-you message and a child's own artwork turn the same plaque into a gift for the person who matters to them.
The artwork shown is inspiration, not a fixed design attached to that recipient. Any recipient can have a drawing, handprints or footprints. For example, you can make a drawing for Daddy or footprints for Grandma. There is no separate artwork option to select: you choose how to decorate the blank area after delivery.
Personalisation examples for different recipients
- Mummy drawing gift: recipient Mummy; lettering Pink; top message “You make my world brighter!”; bottom wording “Love from Adam xxx”. Add your own rainbow or flowers at home.
- Daddy footprint gift: recipient Daddy; lettering Blue; top message “I love you to the moon and back!”; bottom wording “Adam xxx, 16/06/2024”. Add your own painted footprints at home.
- Grandma handprint gift: recipient Grandma; lettering Brown; top message “We love you to the moon and back!”; bottom wording “Adam & Amelia xxx”. Add your own handprints at home.
- Grandad drawing gift: recipient Grandad; lettering Grey; top message “Our favourite adventures are with you!”; bottom wording “Love from Adam & Amelia, 18/10/2026”. Add your own family drawing at home.
These are examples only. Enter your own exact message and bottom wording; we do not automatically add the sample names, dates, “Love from” or “xxx”. Choose “I” for one child or “We” for more than one, as appropriate.
Choose the raised lettering colour
There are seven colours for the recipient lettering: Black, Grey, White, Beige, Pink, Blue and Brown. The wooden background stays natural and the raised hearts remain red. The engraved message and names are separate from the painted lettering.
The colour selection applies to the raised word at the top, such as Daddy or Grandma. It does not choose a paint colour for the prints: you supply your own art materials. Please use the colour chart in the gallery as a guide; screens and natural wood can affect how shades appear.
How to personalise your plaque
- Choose who it is for. Select the recipient from the menu. For a different name or nickname, choose Custom and enter it in the custom recipient field.
- Select the lettering colour. This is the colour of the raised recipient word.
- Enter the top message. Write the exact sentence to engrave above the artwork, for example “We love you to the moon and back!” or “Hands down, the best Grandma!” The raised recipient word is chosen separately.
- Add the bottom wording. Enter the names, sign-off and date you want below the artwork. Include a date only if wanted; we do not add one automatically.
Example order:
Recipient: Grandma
Lettering colour: Brown
Top message: We love you to the moon and back!
Bottom wording: Adam & Amelia xxx, 18/10/2026
We engrave the wording you submit. Please check names, spelling, punctuation and dates, and use “I” or “We” as appropriate. Keep the visible message short enough to read comfortably. For an unusually long name, a longer message or a particular layout, contact us before ordering. A design preview is available on request.
Adding the artwork at home
Protect your work surface and try the arrangement on paper first. For prints, use a small amount of your own paint suitable for children's skin and the activity, following its instructions. With adult help, gently press the hand or foot onto the blank wooden area, lift it away and leave the plaque flat until completely dry. Avoid soaking the wood.
For drawings, use your own crayons or coloured pencils directly on the blank area. A simple family picture, a rainbow or a child's first attempt at writing their name can make an equally personal keepsake. Adult supervision is recommended while creating the artwork.
What is included
- One personalised wooden plaque with your chosen raised recipient lettering.
- Two red raised hearts and your engraved top and bottom wording.
- A blank central space for your own prints or drawing.
- A complimentary display stand.
Art materials are not included. Paints, brushes, crayons, coloured pencils and other props in the photographs are for illustration. This is a wooden keepsake to decorate, rather than a complete paint or casting kit. Natural grain and small colour variations are part of the wood's appearance. Display indoors and keep away from moisture and direct heat.
Frequently asked questions
Is this only a gift for Daddy?
No. Choose from the recipient options for parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties, or select Custom for another name or nickname. Your engraved message can suit any of these recipients.
Does the plaque arrive with handprints, footprints or a drawing?
No. All three are examples of artwork you can add at home. We supply your chosen raised recipient word, red hearts and personalised engraving, with the central area blank.
Are paints or crayons included?
No. Paints, brushes, crayons and coloured pencils are not included. Please provide your own suitable materials.
Can my child draw on the plaque instead of using paint?
Yes. They can draw directly in the blank area with their own crayons or coloured pencils. You can make a drawing keepsake without creating painted handprints or footprints.
Can I change the message shown in the photos?
Yes. Enter your exact top message and bottom wording in the personalisation fields. The photographed wording, names and dates are examples, not automatic additions.
How do I order a different recipient, such as Nana?
Select Custom in the recipient menu and enter the exact word in the custom recipient field. Enter the message above the artwork and the bottom names or date separately.
Can I leave the date out?
Yes. Only include a date in the bottom wording if you want it engraved. You can use names or a sign-off without a date.
Can more than one child add artwork?
Yes, where space allows. Plan the layout before adding prints; the number that fits depends on the size of the hands or feet. Siblings can also contribute small drawings.
Does the colour choice change the hearts or the prints?
No. It changes the raised recipient lettering only. The hearts stay red, the base stays natural wood and you choose your own art materials for the prints or drawing.
Is a stand included?
Yes. A complimentary stand is included for displaying the finished plaque on a suitable flat surface after the artwork has dried.
Can I see a preview before it is made?
A design preview is available on request. Contact us with your wording and any layout requirements before production.
Is it suitable for occasions beyond Father's Day?
Yes. Personalise it for Mother's Day, a birthday, Christmas, a thank-you or a keepsake for grandparents. The recipient and your words determine the occasion.
Do I receive all four plaques in the main photograph?
No. The price is for one personalised plaque. The photograph shows four examples to help you compare recipients, colours and artwork ideas.
Do I have to use the artwork shown for my chosen recipient?
No. You can add crayon drawings, coloured-pencil artwork, handprints or footprints for any recipient. The Mummy rainbow and Grandad family picture are examples, just like the painted prints.
Do I need to choose “drawing” or “painting” when ordering?
No. The same plaque has a blank area for you to decorate. Select the recipient and lettering colour, enter your engraving and decide how to add the artwork at home.
Can I order matching gifts for more than one person?
Yes. Personalise and add each plaque to your basket separately so every recipient has the correct word, colour, message and names. Each plaque is priced individually.
